Falklands Conservation is regulated by its Articles of Association and Memorandum of Understanding. These comply with its status as a UK company limited by guarantee (number 3661322) and a registered, non-profit making, charity (number 1073859).
Falklands Conservation is a non-political membership organisation. Every subscribing member votes at the Annual General Meeting to elect members to the Board of Trustees, the governing body. This has a majority of places (12 out of 21) reserved for members resident in the Falkland Islands. The AGM is held alternate years in London and Stanley.
Falklands Conservation is a Partner in BirdLife International, where it represents the Falkland Islands and is a member of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature.
