Falklands Conservation strives to improve knowledge and awareness about Falkland Islands wildlife to all sectors of the local community, visitors, and an audience worldwide, particularly in the UK. A range of environmental learning opportunities and resources are available. Many of our publications and guides can be purchased from our web shop. Members meetings with presentations and talks, are held in the Islands and in UK, see Join Us. We support environmental education within the Falkland school system, including Camp Education, and organise a nature club in out of school time.
Past School Work Falklands Conservation works with the Infant/Junior School, the Community School and with Camp Education to provide environmental education materials, support and field trips for students of all ages. Here are a few examples:

Young people Perceptions about the Falkland Islands Environment
Teaching Resources Our work with schools is focused on providing resources on the native wildlife and natural heritage of the Falkland Islands and relating these to the National Curriculum for England and Wales. An outline of teaching resources developed for both primary and secondary levels is described with some examples and resources. Full information on a wide range of learning units is downloadable in zipped PDF format.
Kids Zone Kids worldwide can find out and test their knowledge of Falklands wildlife here with the Falklands Wildlife Quiz (Under Construction). This is a fun way to learn about the Island’s penguins, albatrosses and much else besides. Make and Do has practical art and craft ideas, particularly with Falkland penguins as an inspiration – there are instructions on paint and collage, making a mask, hand puppets and weaving.
Our WATCH Group is the junior branch of Falklands Conservation for young people living in the Falkland Islands. Here is information the Group’s activities and access its monthly newsletters.
