Falklands Conservation Wildlife Photo Competition 2009

 

Falklands Conservation announces its 2009 photographic competition open to anyone resident in the Falkland Islands: Islanders, military and visitors are all eligible to enter. There are three categories for adults: Wildlife in the Falklands, Attention to Detail and Behaviour of Animals and one for Junior Photographers. There will be an overall award of ‘Falklands Conservation Photographer of the Year 2009’.

How to send us your photo
Please make sure you have read the Conditions of Entry.
All photos will be judged on composition, originality and style. We advise you not to alter your image with photo-editing software, other than basic editing functions. Images that are judged to be extensively altered WILL NOT be included in the winning selections. All digital images should be in JPEG format with a maximum size of 1MB and all resolutions must be at least 72pixels/cm. All digital images must be sent in on one CD/ DVD compatible with a Windows based PC. Photos saved to memory sticks will NOT be accepted. All film photographs should be posted in or handed in, up to A4 in size. Scanned images or photocopied images will not be accepted.

All photos must be accompanied by your payment in cash or cheque. You must CLEARLY INDICATE your NAME, AGE category, CONTACT DETAILS and ATEGORY/S on the completed entry forms. Each photo must clearly show the relevant photo number and your name as the title of the photo saved to CD/DVD to compliment the completed entry form.

Conditions of entry
All residents / military / and visitors in the Islands are eligible to enter. All entries must be from within the Falkland Islands. All the proceeds from the competition will go directly to Falklands Conservation. All photographers will keep their copyright to the photo however Falklands Conservation may wish to use the images for PR, educational and information purposes (photographer’s name will be credited). Falklands Conservation will not distribute your photo for any other use. If you do not wish your photo to be used by Falklands Conservation please indicate this with your entry. Photos submitted cannot be returned. Photos will be judged anonymously by a panel of 4 judges (for information on the panel of judges email FC).
