Protecting the wildlife of the Falkland Islands.
Falklands Conservation supports the drive to diversify and expand the Falkland Islands’ economy, but this has to be balanced with environmental responsibility.
We do not oppose offshore exploration for oil but believe this should be tackled with due sensitivity for the marine environment. We work closely with the commercial fishing industry – and together we have significantly reduced albatross mortality in Falkland waters. We are world leaders in the field. We strongly support tourism and have published the very successful A Visitor's Guide to the Falkland Islands. Additionally, through our Small Grant Scheme we help landowners and farmers with small-scale wildlife projects on their land.
Money raised from Corporate Memberships goes directly to pay for our conservation work:
"In partnership with government, industry and the global community, Falklands Conservation will engage and empower the people of the Falkland Islands to take action with us to conserve biodiversity and manage landscapes and seascapes for the benefit of nature and people"
