Cliff Knob Island Nature Reserve

Cliff Knob Island (2Ha, 5 acres)
Cliff Knob Island is one of a group of six islands off the coast of New Island which were gifted to Falklands Conservation by the Royal Society for Nature Conservation.

This is a small island with a dome shaped top. It lies about 400 metres off Sabina Point, New Island North. Cliffs of horizontally layered rock form the coastline. The top of the Island is covered with dense tussac grass. There is no record of the Island being stocked - it probably remained untouched due to difficulty of access.

It is known to have a population of Thin-billed Prion, and probably Diving Petrels. Tussac Birds are common.
